Looking to find your place at Epiphany Brooklyn? StartHERE is the official way to get connected—whether you’re looking to serve on a team, or simply explore what it means to be part of our community. Over six weeks, you’ll learn more about who we are, what we believe and how we grow together as a church family. StartHERE is your space to ask questions, make connections and discover how your unique gifts fit into the bigger picture at Epiphany.

The Six Week Journey

StartHere is a six-week journey designed to build relationships and help you discover your next best steps at Epiphany Brooklyn. Each week, we’ll explore one of our core “E’s,” guiding you through the fabric of our church and unlocking your pathway to growth and belonging.

Week 1

Encounter

Dive into the heart of Epiphany Brooklyn as we explore our identity, mission and the values that guide us. This week sets the foundation for everything we do and how we show up for our community.

Week 2

Engage

Discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus at Epiphany. Through discussions on discipleship, baptism, and communion, you'll see how these practices shape our worship and reflect our commitment to Christ.

Week 3

Equip

Explore how spiritual gifts, membership and community life help us serve one another and grow in faith. This week highlights the importance of living in community and using your gifts to edify the body of Christ.

Week 4

Elders

This unique week connects you directly with our leadership. Meet and learn from our Elders, Staff and Deacons as they share their vision and role in guiding Epiphany.

Week 5

Explore

Get an inside look at serving through Brooklyn's Finest, our volunteer team. Experience The Gathering—a night of celebration, worship and connection with those who make ministry happen.

Week 6

Empower

As your journey concludes, meet with a Ministry Consultant who will help you navigate your next steps. Together, you'll process your experience and create a plan for staying connected and growing in the life of the church.

Key Dates and Schedule

StartHERE runs quarterly, offering a new cohort every season. Participants can choose between two meeting formats: virtual or in person. Once registered, you’ll stick with your chosen format for the entire program to maintain consistency and connection.

FAQs

Do I have to be a member to participate in StartHERE?

No, you don’t! But if you’re interested in becoming a member at Epiphany, StartHERE is where you’ll begin. This program is the foundation of our membership process.

Can I register for the in person track but participate in the online meetings?

Unfortunately, we aren’t able to accommodate switching between formats. The format you choose during registration is the one you’ll stick with for the entire program.

I’m not new to Epiphany, but I have not found where I belong here. Can I join StartHERE, or is it just for new people?

StartHERE is for anyone looking to grow in their understanding of who we are and where they can grow here. Whether you’re brand-new or a seasoned attendee, StartHERE is designed for you.

I’m not sure I can commit to StartHERE right now. How often does the church host a cohort?

We get it, timing is everything. StartHERE runs every quarter, starting in Winter 2025. When the time is right, we’ll be ready to welcome you!
